Homework
♦ One folder will be designated as a “Homework Folder.” Check this folder nightly!!! ♦ Check over your child’s homework. Don’t do the work, but assist when necessary.
♦ Homework is a very important part of your third grader’s routine. ♦ Assignment books need to be checked and initialed on a nightly basis. ♦ Homework should be returned daily, or name on board. Specials
♦ P.E., Library, and Music will be held on Thursdays. ♦ Computers and library will be held on Tuesdays ♦ These special classes are held for 30 minutes each. ♦ The P.E. teacher would like the students to wear comfortable tennis shoes on Thursdays.
Volunteers
We will distribute notes when we need volunteers for special events and field trips. Contact the office to sign up for assisting in the computer lab and the library.
Discipline Plan
♦ Rules are posted in each classroom. ♦ Consequences –Name on board - warning –One checkmark – 15 min. loss of recess –Two checkmarks – 30 min. loss of recess –Parent & Principal notified General
♦ Student absences – Notify office of absence and time to pick up homework. ♦ Transportation changes – You must notify the teacher in writing of any changes to your pick-up schedule. Walkers dismissed to blacktop. ♦ Textbooks – They can go home any time, but must be returned the next day. ♦ All visitors must check in at office.
Grades
♦ Grades consist of 1/3 homework, 1/3 class work, and 1/3 tests. ♦ Grading Scale: –A 94-100 –B 87-93 –C 77-86 –D 70-76 –F 69 below
