Here is some important information from Team 2: Arrival: Students may be dropped off between 8:15 and 8:45 a.m. Students arriving before 8:30 a.m. must report to the gym. Students will be dismissed to go to their classrooms at 8:30 a.m. The bell rings for school to begin at 8:45 a.m. All students arriving after 8:45 a.m. must report to the office for a tardy slip. Attendance: Please phone the office if your child will be absent or late. When your child returns to class, a note explaining the absence or tardiness would be appreciated. Any assignments that were missed may be picked up in the office after school. In the event of a planned absence, please inform the teacher as soon as possible so an assignment packet can be assembled. Lunch/Field Trip/Book Order Money:All money should be sent in an envelope with your child's name and teacher's name written on the front. When money is sent in purses and pockets, it has a tendency to get lost. If you prefer to pay for more than one lunch at a time, lunch tickets can be purchased in the office. If you are purchasing books from a book order, please make your check out to each individual company. Homework: Homework will be assigned daily and recorded on your child's assignment sheet or assignment notebook. Please see that all homework is completed and turned in the following day (unless otherwise noted by the teacher). Homework is a required part of our curriculum and a follow-up to the lessons presented that day. Medication: Any medication your child receives should be given to the school nurse to be dispensed. No cough drops can be taken in class. Grades: All papers that students turn in will be graded. Grades
Spelling Tests: Spelling words will be sent home on Monday to study for the week. The spelling test will be given on Friday. Classroom Management:The students and teacher will work together as a team to write the classroom rules. Writing the rules together gives the students a sense of ownership and pride. For those times when rules are broken, the pull-a-card system will be used. Each student will have a green, yellow, red, and black card. Green is the signal for good behavior and students are given a warning before a consequence is given. As offenses are made, cards are pulled with the following consequences. All cards are replaced at the beginning of each new school day.
Specials: Wednesday is our day for P.E., Library, Music, and Computers. Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on Wednesdays for P.E. participation. Friday Packet or Folder: Each Friday, your student's work will be graded and sent home in a packet or folder. This packet will also include any weekly information pertaining to the classroom or school, book orders, PTO news, or other take home information. The packet or folder will include a place for you to sign and return so that we can be sure your child's work was received and reviewed. Birthdays: Treats may be brought in for the class to celebrate your child's birthday. Cupcakes, cookies, or treat bags work best. Please do not send in whole cakes. It is best to make arrangements ahead of time before sending in treats. |
